Wellington's transportation network includes rail and bus routes to the Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa, and ferries connecting the city to the South Island. While the student body consists mainly of New Zealanders of European descent, 1,713 are Maori, 1,024 are Pacific Islanders, and 2,765 are international students. Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand.
